This orange Bath is Fleur's first piece of bathroom furniture. It was promoted in the 1978 trade catalogue with a tagline "bathroom with real working shower". And indeed, the shower really works! A system of pipes hidden under the floor carries water from the bathtub to the shower via a pump button on the corner of the bathtub.
Fun fact 1: no-one who has this bathroom also has the chairs shown in the picture. Maybe they were only used in the promo photos, but not included in the box? Or maybe they were easily lost, as the only loose parts of the set? They also do not match each other. One chair is a tall stool with silver legs and orange seat, and the other is the familiar Fleur chair (also included in the vanity set) with red legs and white seat.
Fun fact 2: I have never seen the striped yellow-orange-red towels shown in the promo photo. The towels are always white.
The orange Fleur bathroom is not a one-of-a-kind item. For almost all Fleur furniture, Otto Simon used pre-existing factory molds which were not copyrighted for their exclusive use (I have noted them on individual furniture pages if applicable).
Tina Toy company sold this exact same bathroom in its Hollywood range. There are two differences. The Fleur bathroom was sold fully assembled in a huge box. The Tina Toy bathroom was sold in pieces in a much smaller box, with assembly instructions. The Fleur bathroom has two chairs in the promo photo, while the Tina bathroom photo has no chairs. The photo below is from a finished sale on the Austrian Willhaben website.
